Suburban Exploring

To many people, visiting cemeteries are depressing or boring. For many years, I feel the opposite. They're soothing, serene and enjoy knowing the history of the cemetery and the people who are buried in them. This interest started with Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit. The rich history, statues and tombstones are well worth the trip. I visit approximately 2-3 times a year.

This time, I wanted to explore someplace different, out in the suburbs. Driving on the way to my photo project, I noticed the entrance to a relatively new looking cemetery. After my project, I returned to this medieval looking entrance. I didn't explore the grounds, only the entrance way. It's definitely worth spending a few minutes capturing some photos. The following two photos were my interpretation of the Parkview Memorial Cemetery entrance.
